Spring 2021 Update

We are looking forward to opening Log Chateau Park Campground and seeing everybody enjoying their summer with friends and family. Unfortunately this year, the camping industry has again been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions. Our Public Health Department, like many others, is becoming overwhelmed, and we do not want to add to their burden. It is important to remember that ultimately we are all in charge of our own health, however, we each have a responsibility to protect others by following these guidelines.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, regulations put in place by the Government of Ontario and the local Public Health Authority will be enforced at Log Chateau Park. Everyone must remain at their primary residence until the Stay at Home Order has been lifted. We do not want to promote or encourage anyone to break the Stay at Home Order, especially from other municipalities that may have higher COVID-19 transmission rates.

To be clear, your RV at Log Chateau Park is NOT considered a residence; we are a recreational seasonal campground. Therefore, it cannot be used as a residence during the Stay at Home Order.

We have been in consultation with the Ontario Private Campground Association, who have been providing some guidance regarding the regulations set out by the Provincial Government. From this consultation, we have developed our action plan to navigate through the months ahead. Please note, when there seem to be conflicting statements in the Government Orders, we have concluded that the Stay at Home Order has precedence and will supersede any other statements. I will post further updates as I have them to limit phone calls to the office however if there are questions we have not been clear on you can feel free to contact us at the office.

Please read and review the information below to ensure that we all stay safe and respect the Provincial and Federal Government regulations:

♣ Our Opening Date at this time is now set for May 21st, to coincide with the lifting of the Stay at Home Order.

♣ No one can come to the campground AT ALL as we are not deemed to be essential. Site cleanup, checking, or opening your RV, are NOT deemed essential. Gates are down and only those who reside on the premises have access.

♣ The License of Occupation and Waivers have started going out. Please return them promptly when it arrives, so you are not held up and unable to open once we can due to no paperwork (Gate cards will NOT be activated until it is fully complete).

♣ All fees are still due May 1st, 2021. We have payment options that do not require in-person contact (e-transfer, check,).

♣ Any new 2021 seasonal campers must make an appointment to have their RV delivered, with no more than 2 adults in the household to assist with RV setup; no children are allowed to attend this appointment.

We understand this may not be the news everyone wants to hear as we also were hoping to not be in this same situation this year as last. This is the last thing any business wants however we need to all follow the rules set out. We would also ask for no negative comments as we feel there is enough negativity going on right now and it will not change anything. On top of homeschooling, delayed start to our season and dealing with the pandemic we do not want to have any more stress put on anyone else (and that goes for everyone going through these difficult times not only our family).

Please stay safe and we truly hope to see everyone safe and healthy once the stay at home order is lifted.

Sincerely,

Lucas and Stephanie Lowell
